The short version
- When you ask for a free estimate, we use what you give us only to contact you about your carpet project.
- We do not sell your information, and we never give your form details to advertisers.
- Our website uses Google Analytics and Google advertising tools. They use cookies to measure how people use our site and to help our ads reach people who may need carpet work. You can opt out.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing thirdcoastcarpet@gmail.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you fill out our free estimate form, we collect:
- Your name and phone number (required)
- Your email address and ZIP code (optional)
- The type of project (for example, "3–4 rooms" or "Stairs")
- How you'd like us to contact you: text, call or email
When you call, text or email us, or when we visit your home for an estimate or installation, we also receive what you share with us, such as your address, room measurements, photos of your floors and your carpet choices.
Information sent automatically with the form
When you send the estimate form, it also tells us:
- Which page of our website the form was on
- Ad campaign labels in the page address, if you arrived from one of our ads (for example "utm_source" or "utm_campaign"). These tell us which ad brought you to us. They do not identify you personally.
Information Google collects when you browse our site
We use Google Analytics and Google Ads, which run through a Google tag on every page. Using cookies and similar technology, Google collects:
- The pages you visit, how long you stay and the links or buttons you click
- Your device type, browser and screen size
- Your approximate location (city or region, based on your IP address)
- How you found us, for example a Google search or one of our ads
- A random identifier stored in a cookie, so repeat visits can be recognized
- That an estimate request was sent, and from which page, but never what you wrote in it
We do not send Google your name, phone number, email or anything else you type into our forms. The reports we see are about groups of visitors, not named individuals.
Information our website host receives
Like every website, ours is delivered by a hosting company (Cloudflare). When you visit, their servers automatically receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. They use it to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We do not use it to identify you.
How we use it
We use your information only to:
- Reply to your request and schedule your free in-home estimate
- Prepare your quote, plan your installation and complete the work
- Send you updates about your appointment or project
- Honor our 2-year labor warranty and handle any follow-up repairs
- Understand which of our ads and pages are working, using the campaign labels described above
- Measure how visitors use our website so we can improve it
- Show our ads to people who have visited our website or who are likely to need carpet work (Google calls these "audiences"), and measure which ads lead to estimate requests
- Keep business, tax and accounting records as the law requires
- Prevent spam and misuse of our website
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling. A person, not software, decides how to respond to you.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We never share what you type into our forms with advertisers or anyone else for their own marketing. The only advertising-related sharing is the website usage data Google collects through its tag, described above.
We only share information with service providers who help us run the business, and only what they need:
- Web3Forms receives the estimate form and forwards it to our email inbox.
- Google (Gmail) hosts our business email, where estimate requests and your emails are stored.
- Cloudflare hosts and protects this website.
- Google (Analytics and Ads) collects website usage data through cookies, as described above, and uses it to give us reports and run our ads. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Our phone carrier carries our calls and text messages.
We may also share information if the law requires it (for example, a valid court order), to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business. If that ever happens, this policy would continue to protect your information.
Calls and text messages
If you give us your phone number, we will call or text you about your estimate request, your appointment and your project. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
- Message and data rates may apply. How often we text depends on your project.
- To stop text messages at any time, reply STOP. For help, reply HELP or call (346) 220-2534.
Cookies, analytics and ads
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Our site uses two kinds:
- Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies measure visits and help our ads reach the right people. Google may use this information to show you our ads on other websites and apps, including ads based on your visit to our site (often called "remarketing" or targeted advertising).
- A security cookie from Cloudflare, our host, may be set to tell real visitors apart from automated bots. It is needed to keep the site working and is not used for advertising.
How to opt out
- Personalized ads: turn them off in Google's My Ad Center.
- Google Analytics: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends this signal, our site automatically tells Google not to use your visit for ad targeting or ad personalization.
- Your browser settings: you can block or delete cookies at any time. The site will still work, including the estimate form.
Our fonts and photos load from our own website, not from outside services. We do not use Facebook, TikTok or other social media tracking tools. If we add any, we will update this policy first.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it: to respond to you, complete your job, cover the 2-year warranty period on your installation, and meet tax and record-keeping rules. If you request an estimate and don't hire us, you can ask us to delete your request at any time. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.
Your choices and rights
No matter where you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we have about you, and give you a copy
- Correct information that is wrong
- Delete your information
- Stop contacting you
- Opt out of targeted advertising (see how to opt out, or ask us and we'll help)
Email thirdcoastcarpet@gmail.com or call or text (346) 220-2534. We may ask you to confirm some details so we know the request is really from you. We will respond within 45 days, and we will never charge you or treat you differently for making a request.
Some state laws, such as the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, give residents specific privacy rights. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with "Appeal" in the subject line, and we will review it within 60 days. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Texas Attorney General.
We may need to keep some information even after a deletion request, for example records the law requires us to keep, or details needed to honor an active warranty. If so, we will tell you what we kept and why.
How we protect it
Our website uses encrypted HTTPS connections, so information you send through the form is protected in transit. We limit access to estimate requests to the people who need them to schedule and do your job, and we protect our accounts with strong passwords. No method of sending or storing information is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect yours. If a breach ever affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Children
Our services are for adults arranging work on their homes. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Other websites
Our site links to other websites, such as our Google reviews. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, such as adding new tools that collect information, we will make it clear on this page before the change takes effect.
